Imaging Biomarkers in Drug Development
The price tag of drug development has steadily increased over the years with it now costing an average of $1.3 billion and ten years to bring a new drug to market. These staggering numbers play a significant role in the rising price of drugs. For example, the anti-cancer drug, bevacizumab costs about $50,000 for one year’s treatment. This contributes to the unsustainable rise in healthcare expense and leads to increasing pressure to reduce the costs of drug development.
