Spontaneous Perforation of Pyometra Resulting in Peritonitis in a Postmenopausal Woman

Perforation of pyometra with resultant peritonitis is rare. Herein we present a case of a postmenopausal woman who presented with an acute abdomen from perforated pyometra. Considering the increasing proportion of elderly population, this condition may increase in incidence.
