Natural products have been an essential source of medicinal compounds for centuries. These bioactive molecules, derived from plants, microorganisms, marine organisms, and other natural sources, have provided the foundation for many of the world's most important pharmaceuticals. In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in natural products as a rich and largely untapped resource for discovering novel therapeutics.
