Chronophysiological Nature of Ruminant Nutrient Intake Regulation

This editorial establishes an evolutionary global chronophysiological nature for nutrient intake regulation in ruminants. In addition, such chronobiological perspectives are utilized as working models and economical tools to help optimize animal and human health. Understanding feed and individual nutrient intake regulation is a prerequisite for accurate intake prediction and effects on ruminant productivity and human health. Conventional research and models have extensively and exclusively focused on nonchronological controllers of feed intake. Analyzing natural circadian patterns in grazing and rumination can lead to creating innovative approaches in monitoring ruminant and human metabolism and health
