Comparative Study between the Quality of Water Resources in Assiut and Minia Governorates, in Relation to the other Areas of Egypt, North Africa and Sudan

The main objectives of this study are to compare between the quality of surface and groundwater resources in Assiut and Minia governorates for drinking, other human activities and irrigation purposes. Also to evaluate the qualities of groundwater resources in Assiut Governorate in relation to the other areas of Egypt, North Africa and Sudan for irrigation purposes. Our results revealed that surface water quality in Assiut is slightly better than in Minia for human drinking purpose; while groundwater quality in Minia is better than in Assiut for human drinking purposes. On the other hand, surface water quality in Assiut is slightly better than in Minia for domestic and laundry purposes.
