Use of Sleep Compliance Monitoring to Improve Patient Adherence

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is characterized by cessation of breathing during sleep with intermittent hypoxemia and sleep fragmentation. Comorbidities associated with OSA include: coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, stroke, hypertension, and Type II diabetes. In addition to high public safety costs associated with untreated OSA. OSA patients use a much higher and disproportionate amount of healthcare resources. Untreated OSA patients use twice the healthcare resources of treated patients. These facts notwithstanding, the current model for delivery of care to OSA patients is noticeably deficient in long term clinical management of patients. 3B Medical proposes a robust program of patient clinical management using web-based telemedicine and automated algorithms to improve outcomes and lower costs
