The World Health Organization defines obesity as a disease in which the excessive increase of body fat causes serious health problems (WHO) Over the last 50 years, obesity has become a global epidemic and is listed in the main problems of public health in many parts of the world. Adolescence represents a critical period for weight control. At this stage of growth, the individual receives about 25% of the final size and 50% of the body weight Adolescence can also be critical for the development of obesity due to changes in the amount and distribution of body fat.
